sorry for the breaks in the words but have a hitch to sort out. but feel free to look at the pics..

here is the truck and all the rust that comes with a later transit van,    ( it was later when i went to press,  lol but old now)
when i say later i mean as in not a mk 1.2.3 .but 4 onwards as you can still pay a fare bit of cash for them.wheel arches and steps i feel will need to be replaced with new panels of which you can buy for them cheaply if you find the right suppler. i found one in ipswich that do trade prises only and can replace the lot for a bout £300.
step £50 sill with half arch £50 wing £30 thats one side the other is slitly less as there is less mess.pics of the truck.

Nice work shaung. Transits are excellent, the old Brit Chopper one did more
than the missus’s Fiesta. I did a similar but easier conversion when I bought an old
7.5 ton truck, ripped the guts out of my caravan and transferred them. Thinking back,
I wish I’d started from scratch, as caravan interiors are pretty flimsy,
but the best thing about the whole build, apart from having a kitchen & bed and costing about 35p,
was having my own bog! In actual fact, being “self sufficient”
was the only reason we could afford to attend all this year’s events.
There was a surprising bonus too. Fully loaded Transit (to the roof, including my trike)
pulling a caravan, also loaded to the roof, we were getting an easy 25mpg. MAN lorry,
with all the stuff the Tranny carried, plus 6 cylinder 7 litre diesel engine……25mpg.
But I still miss the Transit.”

ok we have some progress.iv started the inside, im not feeling very happy with it, but the wife loves it so far so i guess that will do for now but will have to re deal with it later. the problem is i got some cheep 3 mm ish gage ”made in china” wood, but the wood its self is not very well made, i was warned of this buy the shop but with a £10 difference on it per Bord i felt it will do . well it will , but not a lot i can do about it now.
so far , iv lined the side parts of the roof, its got polystyrene sheets glued in , glue is from the glue people £15- vat pricey stuff needed two of them.. then put some b&q Bord’s up screwed them down, then the wall, well i have had to play around with glues for this as did not want the the glue peoples glue for this, i found that Ipswich plastics do a polyurethane glue made by Apollo Ind’s and that is very good for the lob of sticking the poly sheets up on to the walls, i could not pull them of, i got a brush squeezed the bottle head sprayed it on ”in a dogy piss motion, :? soory” then with the brush worked it in to the grp then like it was a grab clue pushed the panels on the Bord over top.
then its the turn of the cupboards and stuff. well that’s that for now.
